About Peak Resorts
Peak Resorts was founded in 1982 by Tim Boyd, who started with one ski area in Missouri. In 2001 Dick Deutsch, a real estate developer and aggregate of real estate assets, approached Mr. Boyd about building and investing in a ski area portfolio. Since then, Peak Resorts had grown and now operates 13 ski resorts in six states throughout the eastern and midwestern United States. Peak Resorts operates the most number of ski resorts in the United States.
Peak Resorts is known for its snowmaking, and all of its resorts have state-of-the-art snowmaking on a majority of their trails. This focus on snowmaking has made Peak Resorts profitable even during years when natural snowfall is scarce. As a result, Peak Resorts averages 1.7 million skier visits annually.
In addition to day and night skiing and snowboarding, many resorts also offer snow tubing during the winter. Summer activities include golf, mountain biking, alpine slide, water slide, zip ride, hiking and festivals. Year-round amenities include a mountain coaster, on-mountain dining, hotels with outdoor heated swimming pools, spa services and conference/meeting space.
